Please note that No Zombies were harmed in the writing of this Halloween FEATURED article.
For our special Halloween Edition of Featured, we have the chilling Biohazard/Resident Evil Inspired Gamecube case mod by Belgium Graphic Designer Vadu Amka. Lock your doors, turn on all the lights, and make yourself a Jill Sandwich for delving deeper into the bowels of the Umbrella Corporation to observe this sinister Gamecube customization.

While working on repairs and customizations mostly on cosmetically damaged consoles, innovation is the key as a workaround on any console damage. Here, to replace the damaged top jewel, the circle was dremeled out from the top of the case and a clear plexiglass window was added in it’s place. Hopefully no Zombie Dogs jump out from behind it!
With the slot 2 memory card traces severed and the port itself visibly damaged, creative measures had to be taken to cover the gap to make it look streamlined into the design instead of looking like a cover-up. To achieve FULL ZOMBIE, fingers of the undead protrude out of the front to coincide with the dirty, rusty, bloody view into the end of days.
The appendages were molded out of FIMO, a form-able Polymer clay that is easy to work with while being structurally sound. Kind of like Play Doh, but for Professional Artists. Available in many colors to make the fingers dirty, bloody and zombie-like. We’ll have to wait and see if the two extra fingers will help in allowing you to carry more items, though.
Vadu Amka has made many excellent cosmetic console mods and videogame related art over the years, and even makes non-spooky stuff as well. You can see more of her work on her Website, Youtube Channel, and Twitter.
