Another great year was had with an overload of video game items and themes; from consoles to arcades and pinball machines, bands to vendors, cosplay to guest speakers, and friends old and new. More things need to be purple. This month we take a look at the Grape64, which probably our favorite N64 portable to date. Stiff competition, to be sure, as there has been a lot of amazing builds over the years. Finished in 2011 inside a clear tackle box and has features usually omitted from N64 portables like the dpad and L trigger, and even has an Instructables post to help you build your own. It’s very great, and it’s very grape.

The internet is an ever evolving beast. Interests shift, communities die. Digg, Yahoo, YTMND, Myspace, any successful website can fall from favor in an instant. Such an environment is especially tumultuous for modders, hobbyists, and content creators as helpful tutorials, worklogs, projects and even friends can fall by the wayside. What is there to do when sites close and information lost? There is of course The Internet Wayback Machine, but it only saves snapshots of certain pages and not every forum thread, so Google Cache is an alternative worth a try.
