The two most common solutions is to use either a portable LCD TV, or a Playstation LCD screen. The Playstation screens tend to be between 4 to 6 inches diagonal in size, and already run at 7.5 volts (the same voltage as the PS1 & SNES). The TV's, though only 2 to 4 inches diagonal, will also allow you to watch television. Both kinds have their advantages, so choose according to your needs. Yes, you can. But the screen will not work if removed. The entire GBA/SP will need to remain intact, and an adapter purchased to use the screen. Most of the shops on the Links page sell the adapters, but here is a direct link to one product so you know what I'm talking about: AV Adapter SP TV Tuner Adapter

This question has been asked before, however since the search function on this board isn't that great I'll forgive this time ;o>

The GameBoy Color is not very possible for using an SNES on it. It uses the same video technology as the B&W GameBoy, dot-pitch I believe is the legal name for it. The SNES and all other systems connectable to your TV use a completely different technology for getting video to your screen. I won't say it's impossible because somebody out there might be able to make a modification or something. It's difficult and not very pheasable since the mod will probably cost more than a screen you could use for the SNES portable.

Just so ya know, most post-GameBoy handhelds use LCD technology, the technology that IS compatable with composite video, so they should be OK with portable SNES's. Ex.: Sega Game Gear, Sega Nomad, Atari Lynx, Game Boy Advance.

And when deciding on a screen, don't ignore the PS-One portable screens out there. Those are probably best suited for portable homemades. Oher than that, Pocket TVs might be your only other choice.

Once you opened your GB, you would've noticed anyway.

Somebody out there might be able to convert composite to whatever signal the GB[Advance], or maybe even the original GB, screen takes in. Like I said: not IM-possible, just incredibly-unbelievably-without-a-doubt-way-outta-my-league difficult. Might cost as much to do this as it would to just go out and buy a PS-One LCD screen.

An even more detailed answer to this question is available on the NESp site. Here's a LINK.

I am gonna clear this up once and for all. Yes. You can use a GG screen o r a Nomad Screen but they are diffrent from eachother. The difference being that the GG uses a Digital signal and the Nomad uses a Analog (RGB) In order to use a GG you need a TV tuner no question about it unless you can somewhere on the board switch this to analog although i do not know the plausibility on this.

A nomad screen is completly different since it will directly accept your RGB signal in order to do this you take the ribbon cable that connects the videogame guts with the LCD guts then the Nomad guts removed and a new board substitute it than a mating ribbon connector added in. Also you need can supply power to something (5V, regulated) and it then accepts RGB+synch for video.

CHROMA DECODER: Will I need one? Depends on what your project is if it is a DCp then no since the DC is RGB already but for the NES you will.

Overall: Dont even bother if you are gonna make a PSp or higher since The vid screen wont show as well as an LCD for all the work. Second DONT EVEN BOTHER WITH THE GG SCREEN sell it on ebay and then save your money for an LCD alot better.

I would like to add an example of a portablized system that uses the Nomad screen. It's the Portendo, by Kevin Horton. Note the chroma decoder board: if you think you can make it, I wish you luck. Also, do not bother emailing Kevin Horton about it, you'd be lucky to get a reply telling you you're on your own.

*Screen may need mod, depending on model. Use search function on forum and ask for more details.

**Atari works best with A/V mod, and is needed unless used with pocket tv's. It hasn't been used on many screens, so I cannot be sure that it will work. These are just theories.
